Q1. What is the travel journal all about?

Our travel journal is a prompted journal that aims to guide the writer to capture the main part of their day without needing to get caught up in the super-fine detail. It's a way to be more consistent with keeping a journal without the need to spend tonnes of time doing so.

 

Q2. Who is the Journalfy travel journal for?

Being a prompted travel journal, the Journalfy travel journal is suited to anyone who loves to travel and is interested in keeping a written record of their journeys (either in a digital or physical form). 

 

Q3. What if I don't have enough time to keep a journal?

If you find yourself short on time but have always wanted to keep a travel journal, then this might be your best bet! The journal has been designed in a way that encourages you to capture the key parts of your key without requiring you to spend more than 5 minutes doing so.

 

Q4. What if I don't travel a lot?

Whether you travel once a year or once a month, the frequency of your travels doesn't justify the need to keep a travel journal. All memories created during our travels are special and unique, and each of them deserves to be stored in a way we can reflect back on them in the future.

 

Q5. What does "travel" mean?

Whenever we refer to "travel", we are always referring to the experiences gained along any journey, not necessarily the distance covered, time spent or where the destination is. Travel isn't reserved for those who are gone for prolonged periods of time or visit overseas countries, travel is for anyone embarking on a journey. Be it a weekend away with friends, a road trip along the coast, or a night away in a special location, travel caters for all the above, plus more.

 

Q6. What are the journal 'prompts' and how are they used?

Within your Journalfy travel journal, you will find 6-key prompts that are designed to spark memories and allow for easy capture of past events. The prompts include:

  • Location
  • Weather
  • Noteworthy activities
  • Memorable eats
  • A smell, thought or experience to help remember the day
  • Special moments shared with

 

Q7. What is the QR code in the physical journal used for?

When filling out your journal, you will notice a small QR code in the bottom corner. By scanning this code (and provided you have the Journalfy travel journal app installed), it will launch the camera function within the app and allow you to save a photo of the entry within the app. From there, you can add photos to it and even share with friends.

 

Q8. Do I need to use the app and physical journal together?

Most certainly not! You can use the physical journal and the app either together or independently, having just one or both is completely fine.

 

Q9. What is the purpose of the Journalfy travel journal app?

The Journalfy travel journal app has been created to complement the Journalfy physical travel journal. If you would like a way to keep your physical entries backed up and secure, then using the app is a great option. There's a free plan that will give you more than enough opportunities to get started. If you're happy with just keeping a physical journal and don't want to back up your entries, then there's no need to download the app.

Pencils of Promise is a not-for-profit foundation that we have decided to partner with. They have a beautiful mission to support children all around the world in receiving a safer and healthier education, and we're here to support them on that journey by contributing a portion of each physical journal sale to their cause.

Q12. How can I get more information about the journal?

The Journalfy travel journal page on our website will give you more information about the journal as well as images showing you how it looks on the inside.

 

Journalfy Travel Journal App

Q1. What can I do with a “Guest account”?

A guest account allows you to use the main functionalities of the app without the need to sign up for an account. In Guest mode, you will only be able to create a single trip and a single entry, however, it’ll give you an opportunity to explore the app before deciding to sign up for a free account!

 

Q2. What’s the difference between the free plan and premium plan? 

With a free plan, you’re able to use the app in the exact way a premium member can, however, with some slight restrictions. For example, with a free plan, you can upload up to 10 photos per entry, 10 entries per trip and up to 5 trips in total. With a premium plan, these limits are removed.

 

Q3. What does the spinning cloud symbol mean on the My Journal screen?

Every time you see the small cloud spinning at the top of the My Journal screen, it means the app is securely syncing your entries, trips and photos to the server. This allows you to have a backed-up version for whenever you may need it.

 

Q4. What does the cloud symbol with a line through it mean?

When you see the cloud with a line through it, it means the app is unable to sync which is likely due to your device being out of signal or in flight mode. 

 

Q5. What is the camera icon for at the bottom of the app?

When you click on the camera icon in the lower navigation, this will launch the camera within the app and allow you to take a scanned photo of your physical Journal travel journal. You can then save this physical journal entry within the app, add photos to it and even share it with friends or family.

 

Q6. Can I export my entries?

Yes! Once you’ve created an entry and it has synced to the server, you can export a PDF text-only version of it. The photos won’t be exported, however, if you wish to share these also, there is a ‘share’ functionality within the app.

 

Q7. Can I share my entries with others?

Similar to the export feature, once your entry has successfully synced to the server, you can share it by clicking into the entry and pressing on the three small vertical dots in the top right corner. This will then generate a link for you to share on social media or with friends or family. 

 

Q8. Why can’t I export or share my entries?

If you’re unable to export or share your entries, please double-check you are connected to the internet and wait for a few extra minutes. If this hasn’t resolved the issue, feel free to get in contact with us at app@journalfy.co so we can look into the issue immediately for you.

 

Q9. How can I leave feedback?

We love hearing from our users as it allows us to develop better products, so any feedback you have (negative or positive), please navigate to the Settings part of the app and click on Feedback. We will try our best to respond to you within 24 hours. 

 

Q10. Can I be an app tester?

If you’ve come to the FAQ section to look for an answer to this question, then the answer is YES. We would love you to be part of our app testing team! Reach out via app@joournalfy.co or submit an enquiry through Settings -> Request a Feature, and we’ll add you to the list.

Absolutely! In fact, we're that convinced that you'll fall in love with the care, thought and production of the journal that we're offering a "90-day no-regrets return policy".

Q1. Do you charge for shipping?

Yes and no. If you're located in Australia, then the good news is you can take advantage of our free shipping policy offer! If you're located outside of Australia, then there is a charge for shipping which will be calculated at checkout. For information, refer to our Shipping policy in full here.
